Christmas 2021 has been a long time coming – and we know that these last few weeks of the year can feel a bit like walking through treacle.
Tinsel and sparkle have been lighting up our social media feeds from late November and we’re of the mindset that life should be enjoyed for what it is, whenever that is. So, at Caorunn we’ve decided to throw our arms around advent this year and embrace everything that’s joyous about the season a little earlier than usual.
We thought we’d share some of our team’s tips for elevating this year’s long-awaited celebrations.
Anyone else feeling completely exhausted...? We’ve had to dig pretty deep to keep moving through a period of uncertainty and worry in the last 2 years. Keep that front of mind when planning events and celebrations with friends and family and spread a bit of joy through the creation of cosy calm. Plan a Christmas movie night with some of our gin cocktails, blankets, festive treats and shut the outside world out for a bit with a trip down movie memory lane. Nothing gives us an inner glow quite like watching the Christmas movies we loved as children.
Take Christmas catering down a peg or two with a one pot solution to seasonal suppers and watch how your guests’ shoulders instantly lower with the relaxed vibe that bowl food parties can bring.
The biggest trend for Christmas décor is ‘rustic’, which is right up our street; ‘crafting’ is practically our middle name so we’re looking forward to Christmassy afternoons embracing that subtle, stripped back style this year and taking some time out to craft wreaths and garlands with wood, feathers, pine-cones, dried fruit and berries, all gathered from our foraging forays.
Whether you’re hosting a family lunch for 20 (we feel your pain…) or a brunch for six, we have just the thing to help you create a showstopper of a Christmas table. When was the last time you pulled a cracker and anything remotely good or useful dropped out? Exactly – NEVER, so our elves have put their bobble hats on and come up with a cracker of an idea. Literally.
